Comments

We have performed only limited testing of 'Sugargate'. Productivity appears to be far too inconsistent for its use as a commercial cultivar, and the stem scars tear too often. It has some potential as a home variety because of its large size, early harvest, and very sweet berry. I have found this to be one of the sweetest of the muscadines, you just need a few vines to produce enough fruit.
