'Magnolia' was released in 1962 jointly by N.C. State Univ. and the USDA. 'Magnolia' was released as a white pollinator for commercial plantings.

The small berry size of 'Magnolia' relegates it to the juice category. We found it to perform similarly to 'Carlos', with no real advantages over 'Carlos', and it has a wetter stem scar than Magnolia grapes on vine 'Carlos'. Because it is not superior to 'Carlos' we do not recommend planting of 'Magnolia'.
